ICarly will end in November

After five seasons, Nickelodeon's hit series iCarly will be coming to an end, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. In June, the cast will come together for the final time to movie a special iCarly television event that will air in November.

"Everyone at iCarly has been like family to me for five years," creator and executive producer Dan Schneider told TVGuide.com. "When we movie our very final scene, there will be a lot of crying, I know. But I also know that in television, you don't want to over-stay your welcome. I want to go out the way we're - on a creative high-note. "

"iCarly has been a definitional show for Nick with kid empowerment at its core and irreverent, smart humor that families around the world enjoy," Marjorie Cohn, Nickelodeon's president of development and original programming said. "With its lessonic sitcom format and beloved characters, iCarly will always have a domestic on Nickelodeon."

Although the show is coming to an end, numerous of the cast members will stay in the Nickelodeon family. The network has green-lit a new live-action series from Schneider starring McCurdy and a new pilot starring Munck as part of an overall talent deal with the 16-year-old. The network has also green-lit a pilot from producers Jay Kogen and Aaron Kaplan called Wendell & Vinnie, which stars Trainor as a goofball uncle who becomes the guardian to his conservative 12-year-old genius nephew. As for Cosgrove, she plans to attend USC in the fall.

Goodbye Awake, Hello Jason Isaacs
Posted on Thu, 17 May 2012 02:29

NBC cancels 'Awake' (and 3 others)

Time to shut your eyes for good, Awake: The Jason Isaacs drama did not earn a pickup for fall after a lackluster first season. It only averaged 5.07 million.

NBC also said ta-ta to Are You There, Chelsea (3.34 million), Best Friends Forever (3.34 million), and Bent (3.05 million), three other comedies that failed to gain any traction this season.

The cancellations weren't precisely a surprise, but then again - NBC just picked up another season of Whitney so Isaacs or Chelsea Handler could have received a stay of execution. To see all the shows that canned for fall - along with those that earned a pickup - check out our updated Death Watch chart.

NBC will present its fall lineup to advertisers on Monday in New York.

'Awake' star talks about accidentally spawning his own unusual pop culture phenomenon

Fox Renews 'Touch', Cancels 'Alcatraz' & 'The Finder'

Kiefer Sutherland has had a long relationship with FOX after years of "24." That partnership is continuing. FOX just renewed his hour long drama "Touch" for Season 2. Two other shows weren't so fortunate. FOX has canceled both "Alcatraz" and "The Finder." This move was not unforeseen since the ratings were less than stellar. The science fiction/prison drama's numbers went down every week and "The Finder" didn't find an audience. That show's series laste will air Friday, May 11.

'Private Practice' to return for sixth and final season?
Posted on Tue, 01 May 2012 20:13

ABC is in talks to pick up Private Practice for a sixth and ultimate season.

The medical drama's concluding run would be comprised of just 13 episodes, according to Deadline.

The show's chances are thought to have been helped by a recent ratings bump, with the most recent episode attracting a season high of 8.35m viewers in a new Tuesday night slot.

Though an 18-episode or 22-episode pick-up is still possible, Private Practice star Kate Walsh's new contract is only for 13 instalments.

ABC is expected to make a ultimate decision on the destiny of Private Practice - as well as GCB and Body of Proof - once it has screened all of its pilots.

Pilots in development at the network this year include action drama ultimate Resort, Marc Cherry's Devious Maids and period drama Gilded Lilys from Private Practice creator Shonda Rhimes.

Private Practice star KaDee Strickland recently dismissed hearsays that the show is due to be axed.

"Because of the way the show ends this season, it feels to me that a renewal would best serve us," said Strickland, who plays Charlotte King.

The fifth season of Private Practice concludes on May 15 on ABC.

Best Friends Forever Cancelled? :-(

Best Friends Forever Cancelled? :-(

Forever is terriblely short on NBC. The network has yanked the ultimate two episodes of its new comedy "Best Friends Forever" from the schedule, replacing the episodes with "Betty White is Off Tinheritor Rockers," a hidden-camera show in which senior citizens play pranks on young people.

"Best Friends Forever" was never expected to ultimate long, since it was plugged in as a mid-season burn off, but we had hopes that we'd at least get to see the first season. This makes "Bent's" run look successful!

The show premiered to an audience of 3.9 million viewers on April 4, but by this week, it had missing over a million viewers to score just 2.6 million viewers and a 0.8 rating/2 share in households.

Ringer: To Renew, Or Not To Renew?
Posted on Tue, 17 Apr 2012 21:49

Ringer: To Renew, Or Not To Renew?Tonight marks the ultimate episode of Ringer's first season - and likely of the TV series as well. Despite being The CW's most anticipated new TV show of 2011-12, the series has not been able to hold onto its audience.

Ringer revolves around a former exotic dancer named Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) who, after being the sole witness to a professional hit, reunites with her wealthy eunusuald twin, Siobhan. When Siobhan disappears, Bridget assumes her identity and discovers that her sister's complicated life rivals her own. The show also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Mike Colter, Ioan Gruffudd, Zoey Deutch, Tara Summers, and Kristoffer Polaha).

The series debuted to strong numbers (by CW standards besides) with a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.84 million complete viewers. That was pretty close to being on par with the smallest network's most popular show, The Vampire Diaries.

Unluckyly, the moment episode of Ringer missing 25% in the demo and by the fourth installment, the series missing another 33%. Not good. It didn't help that the network put the struggling series on hiatus for two months.
