 CARNIVALE Creator Daniel Knauf Explains New Internet Project + Contest Posted on Wed, 07 Mar 2012 11:32 we have been ranting and raving about the new project from Daniel Knauf, Bxx: hang-outed, for over a month now, and if you are at all acquainted with the series he did for HBO, "Carnivale", then you are likely to be pretty excited as well. Now we have your chance to go beyond excitement. Are you an aspiring digital FX artist? How would you like to receive a shot at scoring a line-credit on the latest project by Daniel Knauf, the creator of cult TV sensation "Carnivale"? that is correct, kids. Now YOU can join in on the insanity! We'll let Daniel take it from here... "We have a unmarried shot in which a man is bludgeoned to death with a monkeywrench," explains Knauf, "it is captured from four angles. We did the digital blood effects inhouse. Though they were satisfactory, they weren't fantastic. So I thought, hey, Bxx is an Internet project, crowd-funded and sourced since inception. So let's crowd-source the fucker!" I know that a lot of you guys are really ardourate about video games and I hope someone-grown steps up to the plate!Pilots warned as GISHWHESHEANS accidentally launch Christmas tree Posted on Tue, 29 Nov 2011 20:39  We wrote formerly about the fantasticest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen, the 6000-person-strong attempt at record breaking spearheaded by actor Misha Collins. it is about to come to a close (Note: It ended final night), just in time to receive a little unforeseen media coverage. One of the items on the list is: Fill hundreds of balloons with helium, tie them to a decorated Christmas tree and watch the tree float away. Tree have to be a real pine tree (not faux) and have to be at least 5 feet tall. The video have to show the tree floating off and should be 40 moments long. it is one of the craziest-yet-believable tasks, and is also worth more points than any other. You can imagine the apparent problem with this… what goes up have to come down, correct? We'd like to think that responsible participants would tether the tree like a kite, but in Kelowna, BC in Canada on Sunday evening, a woman “accidentally” launched a 5′ tall Christmas tree into the sky and alerted Mounties, concerned that it might make its way to the airport. The video below seems to be the video taken for the scavenger hunt submission overlaid with an official statement about the incident. Some celebrities forget that being "famed" isn't synonymous with "free ticket to screw up royally and get away with it". Despite these celebs being a more vocal group, there are a selected few who don't take tinheritor fame for granted and love to give something back, not only to tinheritor fans, but to others as well. Cue my story about Misha Collins, who earlier this year had a enormous crusade that drew funds for Haiti, where a community center and an orphanage were built (on a largely fan-funded project) and who seems to rely on his hoards of fans to help others in need, rather than to advance his career.  This year the same Misha has banded his fans together in organizing GISHWHES (fantasticest International Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen), an event that will make his loyal followers happy, will be breaking a world record and will give a fortunate team the possibly to win a free three day excursion to Rome where they would get to meet the man himself. I guess he thinks it is time to give something back to his "minions", as he, affectionately (I hope) calls his fans. That or he really wants to break that world record.After months of teasing about what GISHWHES might be and thousand of people banging tinheritor heads against walls of different textures in utter frustration, Misha Collins revealed that his latest project was committed to breaking the world record for largest international scavenger hunt ever. According to the Supernatural actor, only +500 teams were needed to break the current record, over 6000 fans joined in. Is it a good idea? Is too much trust placed upon Misha Collins and his antics? Will it bring people together or tear them apart? ( I heard Team #515 is going to win this shit to be sincere ) Source 1, 2 and my email.
