The D12 star, who was signaled to Eminem's Slim Shady Records, was gunned down external a Detroit nightclub on 11 April, 2006, aged 32, and up-and-coming hip-hop stars from Proof-founded record label Iron Fist Records, Obie Trice, Supa Emcee, and Killa Kaun, are to perform at local hotspot Saint Andrew's corridor in a tender to celebrate his reminiscence. Rapper Moe Dirdee tells The Detroit News, "Each artist on the label has a different sneak peek of Proof, something we have all gathered from him. When we get together, you see it, you see those different sneak peeks of him." And label executive 1st Born is thrilled to be a part of the project, adding, "it is very crucial that we keep his legacy alive because of what he meant to the city. We want to keep his music alive and his legacy strong to build it for his family and the future." A portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to the rapper's relatives and five children.
