Katy Perry recently talked with Radio 1 about an upcoming collaboration with BFF, Rihanna. final week, Rihanna said that a duet between the two was inevitable, but it all came down to timing and the correct song. Perry echos the same sentiment, explaining, “we have collaborated on a lot of matters, but just not songs yet. it is one of those matters that is got so much build up that we must deliver.”

Perry goes on to that say she would prefer the song be an epic mash-up as opposed to “Beautiful Liar,” by Superstar Beyonce and Latin sensation Shakira, which failed to impress.

“I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song ‘Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves,' not like ‘Beautiful Liar.' I definitely want to do something that is so iconic.”

Perry continues, “Rihanna's kind of engaged too. we are both engaged but we planted the seed two years ago. How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it is no good? Sometimes you've to wait for fantasticness.”

Superstar singer Shakira has become the latest artist to join Jay-Z's Roc Nation management team!



Shakira has sold over 60 million albums worldwide and won many awards. The Colombian star has a tremendous amount of cache in the global markets and has had many hits both in America and worldwide.

Jay's Roc Nation Management now boasts Rihanna, Wale, Shakira, J. Cole, Melanie Fiona and Santigold among its steady of star talent. Managed producers under Roc Nation include Jahlil Beats, No I.D. and S1.

The artists that are actually on the Roc Nation label includes Jay-Z himself, J. Cole, tween pop star Willow Smith, and emcee Jay Electronica.

Shakira is nursing a few scrapes and hailing her brother as a hero after he saved her from a wild sea lion attack in Cape Town, South Africa.

The singer and her sibling spied some of the aquatic mammals on a tour Sunday aftermidday and decided to receive a bit closer to take pictures.

"Suddenly, one of them jumped out of the water so fast and impetuously that it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me," she wrote on Facebook. "I was paralyzed by fear and could not move, I just kept eye contact with it while my brother 'Super Tony' jumped over me and literally saved my life, taking me away from the beast."

The Holy Spearit will continue to bless us with new tunes in 2012-even if it is not through her own music.

In an interview with Capital FM, Black Eyed Peas front-man Will.I.Am confirmed that Britney will be featured on his upcoming album, #willpower.

From the interview:

"Szenithing about the album's collaborations, Will.i.am said: “i've a song with Alicia Keys - me, Alicia and Swedish House Mafia. i've a song with The Beats, which is pretty grand. Me and Shakira have been trying to finish the stuff we started, and me and Britney is really loopy.”

My personal feelings on Mr. I.Am aside, I couldn't be happier to hear that we are about to hear a new tune from The One And Only Miss Spears. Here is hoping the song features only Britney's vocals! (A boy can dream.)
