'Bad Teacher' TV Adaptation Starring Ari Graynor Gets Series Order From CBS

CBS has ordered a unmarried-camera comedy based on the Cameron Diaz film "poor Teacher" to series for the 2013-2014 season, the network announced today. Ari Graynor ("For a Good Time, Call...," "Whip It"), who's really earned a bigger platform for herself after so numerous funny sidekick roles, will take the lead role as Meredith Davis, an unapologetic former trophy wife turned inappropriate instructor in search of a new man to support her after being left penniless by her final marriage.

"The Office" alums Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky wrote the original film and are executive producing the half-hour TV series alongside Hilary Winston ("Happy Endings"), who wrote the pilot -- Don Scardino was the director.

"poor Teacher," which has been given a 13-episode order, co-stars Sara Gilbert ("Roseanne"), Kristin Davis ("Sex and the City"), Ryan Hansen ("Party Down") and David Alan Grier ("In Living Color"). Sony Pictures Television are co-producing the series with CBS Television Studios.

Criminal Minds Stars Tease Season 8 Finale's Big Death: "I've Never Hated an Episode More!"

"it is my least favorite episode ever."

Tell us how you really feel, Kirsten Vangsness! crook intellects' season-eight laste airs tonight and let's just say something major goes down. Like, one of our beloved characters dying kind of major. it is a death so upsetting that Vangsness tells us, "i have never hated an episode more than this and I think we should all not watch it and then they will must rewrite it and make history different. I hate it that much."

So who's dying? And what was it like working with Star Wars legend Mark Hamill, who guest stars in the laste? We caught up with Vangsness and Shemar Moore to receive scoop on the season eight laste, and find out what's in store next season!

"One of us is in jeopardy, but if you do the math and go in the Internet you are going to see who signaled deals and who didn't! [Laughs.] So if you signaled a deal, it must mean you are alcorrect," Moore teases of two-hour laste. "it is action-packed, it is fun, it moves along and it is intense. Somebody that the fans know quite well but least expect is up against it."

Silver lining? There is no major cliffhanger to spend the summer fretting over, as Moore reveals, "After all the explosions and stuff, there is a nice calm, a nice calm with the releadinging team."

Aside from the death, explosions and calm, fans can expect to see Hamill make a "creepy" turn in the laste, though Moore tells us the actor was "charming" and guest-starred on the show after a nudge from his daughter. "His daughter is a enormous fan of the show, so Matthew Gray Gubler and I were arguing over who she liked more! She is like, ‘No, I did it because of Joe [Mantegna]!'"

Emma Roberts joins AHS season three

American Horror Story: Coven has cast its spell on Emma Roberts.

The Scream 4 actress is nearing a deal to join the FX drama's witch-themed third chapter, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Roberts - who most recently starred in Fox's ill-destinyd pilot Delirium - will play a self-involved party girl by the name of Madison.

Fun fact: Roberts' casting places her on screen alongside real-life boyfriend, Horror Story vet Evan Peters.

As formerly reported, AHS fixtures Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Taissa Farmiga will be back for Season 3. Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone and Gabourey Sidibe, in the meantime, are among the addictive hit is fresh faces.

Big Bang, Horror Story, Parks & Rec, Good Wife, The Americans Lead Critics Choice Nominations

The critics have spoken, and they are big fans of The Big Bang Theory and American Horror Story: Asylum.

Nominations for the third annual Critics' selection Television Awards were announced early Wednesday and CBS' comedy phenom and FX's creepy anthology scored a main six nods asneak peek.

moreover to securing one of the six best comedy series slots, Big Bang saw five of its actors recognized, including Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Melissa Rauch and guest star Bob Newhart. AHS: A, in the meantime, scored nominations for best film/miniseries, lead actress Jessica Lange and supporting players James Cromwell, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe.

FX's rookie bloodless war saga The Americans created a strong showing with four nominations, including best drama series, best lead actor (Matthew Rhys), best lead actress (Keri Russell) and best supporting actor (Noah Emmerich).

When actress Geena Davis was watching children's shows with her daughter a few years ago, she became so troubled by the lack of female representation, she started a think tank on gender in the media. The Geena Davis Institute recently partnered with University of Southern California professors to conduct analyzing gender roles and jobs on screen.

The good news? Prime-time television's pretty decent at depicting women with careers.

It seems like, to be a woman on a reality show you've to be either a: tits and ass, b: dumb as bricks, c: annoying as shit, d: bitchy and e: getting into fights with other women all the time (looking at you Jersey Shore and Real Housewives...). The way that producers manipulate sure matters on different shows does not help either...
